ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) processes are the backbone of most data processing chains and therefore the basis of modern data-driven business areas and associated corporate management. Through cloudification and provision as web applications, more and more opportunities have arisen in recent years to achieve faster and better decision-making processes through the integration and cooperation of different systems. For Garbe, as a developer and manager of commercial real estate, the stable operation of such data processing processes is also of the utmost importance, as it allows essential information about the value, availability and condition of affected properties to be exchanged quickly and seamlessly between different systems. In this project, a new ETL process was designed and implemented using cloud-native technologies.

Using SQL agents, data was extracted from the standard immopac® software and loaded into an Azure SQL data warehouse. A new REST API was created on the basis of Azure Functions, with authentication implemented via Garbe's Azure Active Directory. This means that the data can now be easily read out to other standard applications such as LucaNet (software for financial performance management).
